SATURDAY
To start with, Nate's family came into town Friday night so when we were trying to think of something fun to do with them in this small town in Alabama. We decided to go to rent a boat, a tube, and spend the day at the lake on Ft. Rucker. To make it even more of a party we invited the Bazil Bunch and some other new friends to join us.
There was a really nice playground for the younger kids, as well as 15-year-old Ben and his friend. As well as a swimming area with slides and a trampoline.

As for getting out into the water, we did some of that too. The water was so warm, and even though there were rumors of alligators, everyone got out on the tube and had a blast. Hailey even fell asleep when she was riding with her dad on the tube.

Not only did we have adventures in/on the water, we had some misadventures on land. Right after we finished eating lunch...
... and the boys went back on the boat we started to see some rain on the lake, then across the street in the parking lot...then it hit us. Let's just say the pictures describe it all.

Let's just say we are going to come back out to the lake, rain or shine, to play again. It was a fun day with some great new friend!

SUNDAY
After a fun day on the lake the Beeman's headed down to Panama City Beach and invited us to come along. Of course we said yes, I mean who would pass up another day in the sun, not to mention the beach.
We were very happy to find out that the oil spill had not yet hit that area so we were 100% free and clear to enjoy everything the beach had to offer. The boys were also happily joking, and let me tell you the jokes got a little old for this Alex, that Hurricane Alex had not put down it wrath it.
Ben, his dad, and his friend all went parasailing while Nate, his mom, and myself just played on the beach. Nate was really burnt from the day before and, due to the Army, was not allowed to parasail. Non the less, everyone had a good time.

We also saw some disturbing, unpleasant, and cute things.

TUESDAY
Monday was a day of rest and cleaning at the house, but Tuesday we went to the Montgomery Zoo.

(The tigers were in heat so I got some good pictures, but they are a little racy for a blog post)

While we all had fun, Hailey had a few bad moments: a peacock and it's baby jumped up on her chair and ate her sandwich and a Mexican rattle snake struck at her while she was looking at him through the glass. Let's just say she was a little on edge by the end of the trip.
The car ride home was rainy and had four little kids who did not want to nap. However, 10 min before we finally got home they were passed out.
